The Grill at Terminal City Club
The Grill at Terminal City Club is an elegantly casual restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We set out to create a space that would elegantly transition from day to evening and showcase the amazing dishes.
The full service bar replaced a hidden service bar, and we added a concealed ice well for a seasonal food display. The geometry of the beautiful checkerboard hardwood floor is repeated in the custom liquor lockers at the entry and in the panels separating the main dining area and the private dining room. A hidden door leads the way to the private dining room. Taking over office space, we expanded the existing kitchen and created an exhibition kitchen that opens to the private dining room by way of a sliding panel, featuring local artist Miriam Aroeste.
Glass sliding panels open to the patio and the glazed perimeter walls feature stunning views to the North Shore. A play of felt and mirror serve double duty: helping with sound absorption and reflecting the exterior views. White oak, brass, stone, textural wallcovering and houndstooth patterned fabric feel fresh and create a perfect backdrop for the main star: the Food. A large booth, made possible by encroaching on an under-utilized area in the kitchen, has quickly become one of the most popular seats.
We were also very involved in the complete kitchen renovation; working in tandem with the culinary team and equipment supplier. We space planned multiple iterations of the back-of-house areas with the Club's kitchen team.
