Miku

This was a complete renovation of a long standing Vancouver restaurant AquaRiva, including full kitchen, washroom, front of house and patio redesign. Miku brought aburi style, flame seared sushi to Canada. The layout takes advantage of the beautiful views of the water, watching Master Chefs expertly crafting sushi, and a focal central bar. The element of water is reinforced by the use of curvilinear forms, custom cast glass on the bar and lighting details. The undulating bulkhead guides us through the space and is a canvas showcasing the artwork of Kyoto artist Hideki Kimura.
